2014 Football Campaign
Create a tagline and concept visuals for the 2014 Stanford Football marketing campaign.
Stanford came to Old Hat with the challenge to develop a marketing campaign targeting parents of young children in the Bay Area. The athletics marketing team was looking to have the visuals of the campaign evoke an emotional response from parents, aiming to build a connection between children and student-athletes. Stanford Football reflects and personifies the attributes of the university, and our goal was to relay this message to parents in the community, in hopes of inspiring children to carry on these traits of Stanford's aspiring leaders.
Old Hat's creative team put their heads together and produced six varying concepts. Stanford chose concept #1: Feature young children and football student-athletes interacting, showcasing how young children look up to and aspire to be like their role models. The tag line chosen for this concept - "Inspire. Champions."
Stanford held their own photo shoot, providing the assets to Old Hat to begin the first visual in the process, the spring football poster. Once the overall look was approved, Old Hat continued to design additional pieces to build out the campaign, including a season ticket postcard and billboard which were used in the local area.
For the 2014 Stanford Football campaign, Old Hat designed the spring football poster, billboard, direct mail piece, ticket book, suite passes, key tags and other accompying pieces.
"Working with Robert and Old Hat has been a pleasant treat. Being new to Stanford and being in a fairly rushed timeline to get our football collateral, Robert proved adept at understanding my vision for what we were trying to do and executing it quickly and at a high level. I look forward to our future collaborations."
