I hope everyone out there had a wonderful holiday, welcome back to the working world.

Since I don't have a tv I try to read a lot. This happens whenever I pull myself away from the internet long enough to crack a book. Thankfully I have some good choices that just came in.

• I've been reading Sketching Light by Joe McNally since yesterday. Super cool book that I just got in the mail, kind of an extra Christmas present to myself. No need for a review, if you take photographs just go buy it and learn some stuff.

• I got this cookbook for Christmas, Ad Hoc at Home by Thomas Keller.  Lots of great recipes that aren't overdone or that require all kinds of obscure, fancy equipment. Just really good family-style recipes from one of the best chefs in the world. I like to eat and with this book I've been eating extremely well.
