Some of you may have noticed a missed blog on Tuesday. My apologies for that. I spent Tuesday morning preparing for an afternoon shoot with Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook for an upcoming website and media campaign launching soon.

I can't share too many details right now but as soon as it launches I'll be sure to post some behind-the-scenes and give the scoop on how it all went down. And for anyone who might be wondering, Honey Badger DO care. Russell was a pleasure to work with.

• On a related note, occasionally I get questions on how I get to shoot what we shoot around here. I'll be the first to admit, we get some pretty cool gigs. But my path to where I am now is not exactly a how-to for making it in the sports photography biz.

If you really want some great advice on how to shoot cool gigs for awesome clients then you should check out photographer Jake Stangel's series of posts over on his blog. He's got a four-part series he's published on how to get where you want to go. The last blog in the series is here, with links to the previous installments towards the beginning of the blog. Check it out.

• In addition to shooting stills with Russell we also shot video for some spots we'll be producing. We shoot all of our high-def video with our Canon 5D Mark II, which has kind of been the defacto camera for doing that sort of thing for awhile now. And by "that thing" I mean the whole DSLR video thing.

However, Nikon recently released their flagship D4 camera and it looks pretty legit. If you want to see a master at work with a brand new camera then check out photographer Joe McNally's behind the scenes video below.

That's it for today folks. Look for more Old Hat news coming soon.
